5 Damaging Mistakes Newbies Make in Internet Marketing
For starters this is not a put down on NEWBIES, my hope and intention is to help most of you OPEN your minds and hearts to what available within this community of internet marketing. We all have been exactly where you are, the confusion, frustration and FEAR of doing so much and not having the results to show for it.
The truth of the matter is that the work that creates the success that many can point to does not come overnight. Especially if you do not have the experience of internet marketing a business before, whatever they tell you when you joined that opportunity last night, last week or last year. Has worked for someone who has put in the time and went through the process. Until you are willing to do the same within your own learning curve, it will just not happen OVERNIGHT.
So lets get started and talk about these 5 mistakes
So lets get started and talk about these 5 mistakes and for the record there are more than just 5, but I believe these 5 are the most common and damaging. These are the mistakes that if left unchanged cause failure and bitterness in your internet marketing efforts and that does not have to be the case.
Not being open to new marketing strategies is my number one, because just after you have run out of your friends and family to speak to. Newbies will take the same approach they have learned during the crash course they learned from their sponsor and apply it to people they have not relationship with. Remember people buy from those they know, like and trust.
When you join a company of course they have a great product or service that many have purchased and used. Now its your turn to share them with people who may have been expose to it already, so why should they buy from you. This is the science of marketing; people buy from other people and not the company. You must to market YOU and not the company. People have to feel the company through you and you have to instill in your customer that them can get to know you, like and trust you. Remember you business is a direct sales connection.
You have to build that relationship with people by providing VALUE. If you will not give value, then the marketplace with not reward you. You are a problem solver and people will buy from you if they believe you have a genuine interest in helping them solve their current problem. (weight loss, aging, energy drinks, travel) The value you offer will build the interest in people seeking to learn more about what you do. (Attraction Marketing)
Jumping from company to company could give the trill of a new adventure, but for the people who are watching you, it’s a bad look. They are people watching your every move looking for the right moment to make their own move. All serious prospects will ask that million dollar question “How Long Have You Been Doing This” and you can hide that kind of stuff. Yes, you cannot manage the unknown, but running to the next best deal you think will change your fortune is not the answer either. Those that are successful make camp with one company and built their empire from there.
Being afraid to invest into their own personal development and seeking FREE base marketing strategies. Embracing any form of fear while in business for yourself is a death sentence for your business. Fear will become the 6000 pound gorilla in the room every time you do a presentation or marketing your business, because in the back of your mind you really do not believe in what you're doing.
Free marketing strategies are wonderful
Free marketing strategies are wonderful, but to depend on them exclusively is very costly in the long run. You just cannot control the outcome of change associated with FREE marketing. Facebook and YouTube are notorious for making changes that could disrupt your business by shutting down your personal page or channel for the wrong reasons. I have seen this happen to TOP marketers and that is one reason Blogging has become so important in our space.
To sum this up, as a new marketer avoiding the pitfalls does not have to a burden. Just an action and commitment to excellence, branding YOU and providing VALUE and you will be rewarded by the market place all the time.
